Why Grandparents Apart?
When grandparents first are denied contact to their grandchildren, they look for anyone who can give them help. They feel lost, alone and confused. They feel this has never happened to anyone else or any other family. They often feel they have personally done something wrong. They feel they should have managed the situation better. If that is always the case why do we have so many grandparents contacting us? Are all these grandparents bad grandparents?
ABOUT US
A self help group dedicated to ease the suffering of grandparents and
grandchildren and extended families torn apart. If you feel your
problems could be resolved by mediation a trained counsellor is
available to help you with your problems before the trauma of court
cases, that splits families and harms children emotionally.
OUR AIMS
to promote a network of support groups
to provide a buddy service for court appearances.
to network with other family support services.
HOW WE HELP
Provide a helpline for anyone in distress, leaflets / literature.
Have meetings where one can find a friendly sympathetic welcome,
Drop in centre, a cup of tea, one- to-one talks or group, try to help
patch up differences in families by mediation, write letters to
officials etc
